We purchased the property over 10+ years ago as a Holiday inn Express and took it independent six and half years ago. On the iconic Redwood Highway (Hwy 101) and near giant trees, rugged California coast and national parks, we saw an opportunity to create a sense of place. In Humboldt County almost all franchises are represented and there was no hotel to check into and continue your redwood experience. We changed that!
Lobby, pool, and stairwell murals offer glimpses of Humboldt's landscape, ancient forests, lumber heritage, and Native American Weott tribe. Vintage kayak, fishing gear, and ancestral flies pay homage to the nearby Eel River—just 200 feet away. Follow its course via the Riverwalk. A cowhide-print rug at the entrance connects to local dairies and grazing cows. The lobby's wainscot, crafted from reclaimed redwood of a dismantled water tower near Arcata, pays tribute to the region's rich lumber industry and history.
Early check in and late check out fees should be $30. Times available will be dependent on availability at the hotels discretion.
