Humboldt Bay
Fishing in Humboldt Bay provides calm waters year round. Generally, the best times to go are two hours before and after high tide. Among the large varieties, you’ll encounter sharks, bay rays, California halibut, various kinds of salmon, flounder, and English sole. You can also find crab, oysters, and clams. The method of fishing you use will depend on what you want to catch. At Humboldt Bay, you can go fly fishing, throw out crab nets, and boat fish to lure a halibut.
Pacific Ocean
There are a number of locations to fish along Northern California’s rocky shore. Shelter Cove is a favorite spot, and salmon, halibut, cod, albacore, and surf perch are some favorite catches.
