We all have our own image of what a hero looks like, going back to our childhood when we might have looked up to astronauts, firefighters, or even major sports stars. With COVID-19 in 2020, the mantle of heroism is universally bestowed upon those people without whom our world would cease to function: our frontline and essential workers — healthcare providers, first responders, pharmacists, food service and grocery store workers, military, police and firefighters. Understandably, these essential workers have been putting in long hours, and they all have the same stress and worries as we do. In an effort to show support, people and businesses across the country have banded together to try and help essential and frontline workers in a variety of ways.
The Redwood Riverwalk Hotel has created a way for our customers to partner with us in thanking our heroes by providing essential/frontline workers with a well-deserved and relaxing getaway at The Redwood Riverwalk Hotel.
Here’s how it works:
- Purchase The Redwood Riverwalk gift certificate and we’ll add $$ to the value of the gift.
- Examples:
- Buy a $100 gift certificate, it’s worth $125.
- Buy a $150 gift certificate, it’s worth $180.
- Buy a $175 gift certificate, it’s worth $215.
- Buy a $200 gift certificate, it’s worth $250.
You can then give the gift certificate(s) to the frontline worker(s) of your choosing, and they will be able to plan a vacation courtesy of YOU! Your gift will be a nice, thoughtful surprise, and will honor their contributions with this show of appreciation. We can mail the gift certificate(s) to you or drop them off locally.
Your generous gift to a frontline/essential worker allows them to also take advantage of our FREEBIES:
- Free Wi-Fi in all rooms and throughout the property!
- Free parking in our private lot convenient to all guest rooms!
- Guests enjoy our FREE Lumberjack Breakfast served daily, with over 12 breakfast items that you are free to enjoy in your room!
- Bring Fido PLEASE! We are a dog-friendly hotel, with an enclosed “dog park” where your family canine (and you!) can run around, off leash for daily exercise. We will waive the one-time pet fee for our heroes! Please see our pet policy for complete details.
The Redwood Coast Welcomes Our Frontline Heroes
We freely acknowledge that our Giant Redwoods are the main attraction – and we encourage our guests to visit them when able. Humboldt County, where we are, is home to the world’s oldest and tallest trees, and you can see them in all their majesty in Humboldt Redwoods State Park along the Avenue of the Giants. Now, while the trees are the main attraction, they do have some pretty special “supporting players”:
- Hop in the car (hopefully a convertible!), take a day trip, and you will find a mix of charming cities and towns filled with Victorian architecture – right up the road from one-of-a-kind fishing and farming towns, interspersed with mountainside vineyards, and miles of breathtaking coastline. And Fido will love the variety of dog-friendly beaches!
- We also have great surfing on the Lost Coast, hiking at the King Range Conservation Area, walks along the black Sands Beach, and a stroll through “Old Town” Eureka.
- We have an eclectic selection of fine dining establishments, casual dining, outstanding wineries & craft breweries, a lumber company cookhouse (the Samoa Cookhouse) and home to a vast array of farmers markets.
Please visit the Humboldt County parks and facilities webpage for the most up-to-date information on what is open or available.
